Good morning!
I joined this server during Halloween weekend after a break from surf for some time (previously surfed in GFL and Horizon Servers during :go) and while I don’t surf well, I’ve been really enjoying the community that’s been built by IG. As lively as this community is at times; it does have its moments that can be a bit overwhelming and often overlooked by the absence of admin/staff.
While I can’t say I have experience being an admin, I do not believe it’s hard to be a competent person with fair judgement. There’s a fine line between a good joke and blatant harassment.
Going to be blunt, while it’s obvious that I don’t speak into VC; I don’t think it’s necessarily required to contribute time/support to a server. I’m here to surf more than to be social but if required I can make an effort to speak more. I also apply with the goal to contribute to the community in ways other than simply moderation, if possible or necessary.
My goal as an admin would be simply to make the experience more inviting and maintain that welcoming space that continues to bring more and more people to the IG community. Although, more than often, the community does that better than any single person could, it does help to have someone there to moderate the trolls and/or random users who join with the simple goal of causing as much mischief as possible.
